BJØRN GUNAKETU KJØNSTAD

The journey so far…

Hello, my name is Bjørn Gunaketu Kjønstad.

I am a gestalt therapist, supervisor, consultant, teacher, father and enjoy life and much, much more. Here is one of my favorite quotes - from Morpheus in the movie The Matrix:

You are here because you know something. What you know you cannot explain, but you feel it. You have felt it all your life, that something is not right. You don't know what it is, but the feeling is there, like a splinter in your mind, which unsettles you. It is this feeling that has brought you here. Do you know what I'm talking about?

Together we can explore what it is…

When you have embarked on a professional, personal or existential journey you will at times get stuck, get lost, doubt, and lose motivation... I have been there many times since I started my journey in 1989.

I am constantly amazed to discover how I hide away parts of myself that desperately need recognition and integration into me as a whole. Together we can more easily find these parts of yourself, with careful acceptance. You can then choose whether you want to let them go or integrate them into the whole we call you.

All important change starts with two or more people talking. I would like to take part in such conversations - in the therapy room, at the University, in voluntary organizations and in companies. Together we can find good ways to live wisely, bravely and sustainably in an uncertain future.

Through gestalt methods, philosophy, reflection and meditation, we take on the big questions of life and death, meaning, freedom, isolation and whatever you may encounter on your way.

A bit of history:

After the Ward School, I did a Batchelor in Management Sciences, in Manchester, and started a PhD in Business Ethics. I was so impressed by the Buddhists I did a field study on that I dropped out of my studies, enrolled as a Master and started working with the Buddhists. Together we transformed a 6-storey warehouse into an oasis of self-development and mindfulness. I am approved mindfulness-instructor. Back in Norway after 11 years, I trained as a gestalt therapist and supervisor. I started Pustepause and helped start the consultancy iGo. I have also taken a black belt in Aikido, adopted a girl from Chile, got divorced and bought and sold a motorcycle with a sidecar. And then I love to dance :-) Now I'm writing a PhD on motivation to be and live sustainably.

I would love to hear from you :-)
